A New Autumn Tradition: Mini Fudge Pies

If you love chocolate, you’ll fall in love with this mini Fudge Pie recipe.

A rich chocolate pie with a soft, gooey center.

Simple, easy and dare I say it… “fudging” delicious!

The inspiration for these teeny treats came from a recent work trip to Nashville. I visited a drive in diner known as Snow White, the kind of place only the locals know about that serves up timeless favorites and BBQ that’s to die for. For dessert, which I never pass up, a co-worker and Tennessee native suggested Fudge Pie. What the heck is fudge pie? I raised an eyebrow but our server assured me it was a favorite and that I wouldn’t be disappointed. I took a chance and ordered it with a side of soft serve.

Our wonderful waitress brought it to the table and I took the first bite….

It was downright delicious. How good? Wickedly delicious. So good that even though you’re full from your meal, turning down another bite of pie would seem absolutely crazy. Pie so good that when you get home from your trip, you make it.

It was love at first bite. I promise, you won’t be disappointed.

Fudge Pie is essentially a brownie-like filling in a pie shell. Rich, creamy, chocolatey… need I say more?

These Fudge Pie minis are a scaled down version of the Southern original, and offer a personal sized piece of chocolatey heaven. Perfect for fall gatherings or a simple dessert for the family.
These minis are splendidly simple and sinfully delicious!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients

  • 12 mini pie shells (I used Keebler Elf Graham Cracker. Each pack has 6 shells)
  • 3 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 Cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 Cup evaporated milk
  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  •  1/4 Tsp salt

Preheat your oven to 350

In a large bowl, use a handheld mixer and combine cocoa, sugar, melted butter, evaporated milk, and salt. Beat eggs in one at a time.

Place pie shells in a cupcake pan and use a cookie scooper to fill pie shells. Two scoops of filling into each shell will do the trick!

Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 (or until centers are no longer jiggly). Let them cool completly before serving.

Pairs wonderfully with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream!

Enjoy!

Wait! Don’t “leaf” out the leaves!

What you’ll need for these simple pie garnishes:

  • 1 roll of premade roll out pie crust
  • Cookie cutters
  • Parchment paper
  • Rolling pin
  • Baking sheet

  • Preheat oven to 425
  • Roll out premade store bought pie crust (you’ll want to let it come to room temperate)
  • Using cookie cutter, cut out shapes
  • Using a butter knife create leaf like punctures and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • You can re-roll unused dough between two layers of parchment paper and continue making shapes
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown
  • Garnish pies as desired

So simple, so easy.

This recipe can easily be made gluten free by using a gluten free crust.

Bring your holidays to life with a touch of chocolate this season!

Until next time 😊

Happy Baking,
